I have known Seema de Costa since September 2008 when I sought her out to tutor my daughter in Grade 12 Functions and Relations.
 
My daughter and I were very impressed with Ms de Costa. She was always well-prepared prior to each lesson. She anticipated my daughter’s questions and researched the answers in advance. She was generous with her time and went over the allotted time on many occasions in order to ensure that she had addressed all my daughter’s concerns.
Her explanations were always clear and well-detailed. My daughter left each session confident in her understanding of the difficult subject matter.
 
Thanks to Ms de Costa my daughter obtained an excellent final mark in her math course (96%). She attributes this success to Ms. de Costa’s remarkable dedication and willingness to go beyond standard expectations.
 
In my opinion, Ms de Costa has the qualities of the ideal teacher : she understands her subject matter thoroughly and delights in transmitting her knowledge to her students; she communicates clearly; she is kind and generous in her attitude towards her students. I have since recommended her to two of my daughter’s friends who were seeking a tutor to help them understand their math course.

I am writing this letter as the mother of a student that attended tutoring lessons with Seema de Costa.
 
My son had struggled with math in grade 9, barely passing. In grade 10, he actually failed and needed to retake in summer school.
 
I found out about the Study House tutoring through a friend and discussed the possibility of tutoring for my son for grade 11. He was open to the idea and we met with Seema to discuss our concerns and areas he needed to concentrate on.
 
Seema tutored him throughout his semester, she was very detailed and followed the school curriculum. She helped him understand areas he had struggled with. They reviewed results of each test and/or quiz to again concentrate on areas that needed attention.
 
He passed his course and achieved his credit for grade 11.
 
I have recommended Seema to friends and would call upon her again if required for tutoring.
